PGA Tour Yardage Book - Innisbrook Copperheads 17th Hole

As promised, today is the follow up to yesterdays PGA Tour Yardage Book Blog post, highlighting the start of the "Snake Pit" a three hole stretch that could determine this years winner in the 2017 Valspar Championship.

If you missed yesterdays post, a couple of highlights of the course are below:

Par: 71

Yardage: 7,340 yards

Fairways: Celebration Bermuda Grass over seeded with Ryegrass

Greens: Tifeagle Bermuda Grass over seeded with Poa Trivialis

Bunkers: 72

Hole 17: "The Rattler" - 206 yards, Par 3

After coming off the long and hazard ridden 16th, a long 200+ Par 3 awaits the players that will punish anyone who doesn't hit the green. Narrow and slightly uphill, this forces everyone to have excellent ball striking if they want to go #flaghunting.

Bunkers protect this hole in basically every direction, and forces the player to hit the middle of the green to ensure a Par. Luckily, its one of the largest on the course, but Jack Nicklaus, has famously said that the Snake Pit is the "...three holes that are the toughest in South Florida". The Bear knows what he's talking about.

My pick this week is Henrick Stenson, a ball striking guru, and currently in T4 at -7 under.

Subscribe to my feed to get insights into the signature holes that the PGA pros will be playing, and follow along this week as we will highlight the 3rd leg of the Snake Pit, tomorrow which features the finishing hole, a 445 yard, Par 4.
